History

Already in 1476, only a few years before Christopher Columbus discovered America, the hotel “Goldener Hirsch” was founded in Rothenburg ob der Tauber and has been in private hands for more than 500 years. It was there that the historical festival “The Master Draught” was brought into being in 1881 portraying the legendary events which took place in Rothenburg ob der Tauber during the Thirty Years’ War when the town was occupied by the Catholic Field Marshall Tilly.
